The Cashier role is a crucial part of Dialog Café’s customer service department. The purpose of the Cashier role is to directly support Management, with focus on day-to-day service and guest engagement. A strong focus is placed on ensuring the highest standards for service, consistency, and flow. Cashiers are responsible for taking payments, maintaining the Pont of Sale system, upselling food and beverages, and performing other duties as needed throughout the restaurant
Cashier duties and responsibilities:
-Welcoming guests in a warm and friendly manner
-Providing guest with menus and answering any initial questions
-Providing guests with recommendations
-Providing friendly and accommodating service with good vibes and good energy
-Performing opening and closing duties, in accordance to checklist
-Maintaining a clean and tidy workspace
-Achieve high quality and maintain high standards, whether they are supervised or not
-Assisting the team with other side work, including but not limited to, roll ups, running food, cleaning, stocking, etc
-Processing sales transactions and taking payments
-Maintaining adequate change denominations and requesting additional change
-Answering guest questions about products and services and providing recommendations based on customer needs
-Cross-selling and up-selling products
-Working with team and management to reach sales goals
Required qualifications and skills:
-High School Diploma or GED
-Customer service experience
-Valid ABC license and Food Handler’s certificate
-Understanding of restaurant etiquette
-Familiarity of Health and Safety regulations
-Excellent communication skills
-Complete knowledge of all food and drinks
-Critical thinking skills and adaptability
-Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
-Able to lift 50 lbs
-Willingness to follow instruction and ask questions for any clarification
-Ability to handle money accurately and operate a Point-Of-Sale system
This is a Part Time position. Must be able to close at least 2 nights a week
