Bel-Air Bay Club is a private club situated on the picturesque Santa Monica Bay in Pacific Palisades, California since 1927. Bel-Air Bay Club has earned the prestigious Distinguished Club Award from the Distinguished Clubs of the World award program two times in a row and is recognized as providing an experience found only at the finest clubs. We are seeking a proactive, sharp, and energetic Barback with at least 1-2 years of experience in a similar setting. Bel-Air Bay Club prides itself on providing great talent who will work collaboratively in a fast paced, team environment with the ability to deliver evolved customer service to members, guests and colleagues.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for prep, set-up, maintenance and bar operations prior to and during each event's opening. You will also maintain the bar's cleanliness and keep stocking levels replenished for smooth operations and excellent front of house presentation. The ideal candidate will primarily support the Bartenders and food & beverage team consistently throughout the event.
Essential functions:
-Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available.
-Slice and prepare garnishes.
-Control and limit wastage.
-Maintain Bar and Lounge area clean.
-Follow all rotation procedures to ensure freshness and quality.
-Assist with all reasonable bartender duties when required.
-Adhere to basic hygiene procedures and grooming standard.
-Follow all health and safety regulations.
-Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the front and back of bar and house as needed.
-Position duties may include any other tasks as deemed necessary by managers in order to fulfill the obligations of the Club.
Qualifications:
-Previous food service experience preferred
-Previous Bar Back experience required
-Alcohol Training Certification preferred
-High School Diploma
-High level of professionalism
-Strong interpersonal skills (people skills)
Physical Requirements:
Fast paced mobility for long periods of time, standing, walking, reaching.
Position requires walking, standing, bending and reaching for long periods of time in hot and cold conditions outdoor and indoor.
Requires the ability to lift approximately 40 lbs
Environmental Factors:
The team member is exposed to working indoors and outdoors around normal, high and cold temperatures with normal to high noise levels.
Work Hours
This is a Part-Time position with most weekends as schedule demands based on event schedules. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
