Position Overview: As the Lead Bartender at El Chucho, you will be an instrumental figure in maintaining the high standards of our bar's beverage service. Reporting directly to the Beverage Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the bar team and contributing to the vibrant and inviting ambiance that defines El Chucho. Your attention to detail and dedication to delivering outstanding guest experiences will be essential to our ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
1. Drink Preparation
Oversee inventory management for all bar-related supplies, including wine, beer, garnishes, merch and glassware.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of current beverage trends and developments within the industry.
2. Staff Oversight
Lead the bar team by example, showcasing exceptional bartending skills, customer service, and professionalism.
Supervise bartenders and barbacks, promoting a positive work environment and high-quality service.
Keep tabs on employee performance and communicate reflections to Beverage Director.
Work with security to ensure security and safety standards. Manage existing security schedule.
3. Effective Management of Operations:
Foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests, engaging with them to provide recommendations and ensure a memorable experience.
Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Dry clean staff uniforms bi-weekly.
Create staff schedule bi-weekly/monthly and adjust as needed.
Supervise 2-3 of the busy weekend nights to ensure proper business flow.
Order cleaning supplies as needed by doing a weekly or bi-weekly cleaning supply audit.
Submit nightly recaps via R365 that reflect the full breadth of service.
Receive occasional shipments and organize bar/fridges accordingly before bartenders arrive for service, work with the beverage director to identify delivery schedules.
Perform tip out with the excel sheet you made and ensure tips are distributed every pay period.
Connect with the beverage director and owner on a regular basis to ensure the highest standard of service.
Perform a weekly wine inventory and report numbers to the Wine Beverage Director.
Work with social media team to promote the business and events.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience of minimum 2 years in a similar role in the restaurant industry.
Proven team skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with both staff and customers.
Passion for the beverage industry and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
