The Village Bakery and Cafe is looking for an experienced, passionate, reliable baker to join our team.
Shifts start at 6am and weekend work (both Saturday and Sunday) is required.
The holidays are fast approaching (October, November and December are incredibly busy months for us) and it is imperative that you are available to work throughout the season. Your past experience in fast paced bakeries will come in handy during this time as we will need your organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure that all of our holiday pies, cakes and cookies come out beautifully and delicious!
Responsibilities will include:
-Opening baking (bake off muffins, scones, coffee cakes etc), ensuring that all baked goods are out of the oven and the front case is completely set up prior to our doors opening at 8am. You will be working with other bakers to complete the opening tasks.
-Daily production (making batters, doughs, cookies, cakes, brownies, frostings, fillings, etc.) as needed. Again, there are other bakers who you will be working with on these tasks.
-Wholesale baking. We have several wholesale, Italian cookie accounts. You would be helping with the weekly production, ensuring that the orders are met, packed and organized. Baking and filling of different types of cookies is required.
Qualified candidates will have:
- Experience in a very busy, professional bakery
- Strong attention to detail & ability to follow recipes
- Ability to communicate with team and leads.
- Accountability
- Time management skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Punctuality & dependability (we need you to show up for the shifts that you’re scheduled for AND to be on time)
- A positive, upbeat demeanor
- Serve Safe Certificate
