DescriptionThe Brain Research Lab at the Semel Institute is seeking to hire a Limited Part Time Statistician to consult as needed with the Principal Investigator. The PI's lab conducts neuroimaging studies of typical and atypical brain development. In this role you will need to be available to consult on appropriate use of statistics for ongoing research projects, advise on advanced statistical approaches (e.g. machine learning), and conduct statistical analyses as requested by team members. You will also be involved as part of the lab and collaborators' grant submissions.Duties:

Provide statistical consulting services to members of PI's team

Perform statistical analyses as requested by the PI's team using Matlab and Python

Explain and summarize data analysis findings to the team

Assist with statistical analysis sections of grants in preparation

Co-author publications with the PI

Respond within 48 hours to email queries from the PI and other lab members

Please note that this limited position may convert to career.Pay Range: $26.63 - $52.97 hourly. QualificationsRequired experience:

At least two years experience working in data science.

Prior experience with fMRI data analysis and statistical analysis methods.

Several first-author publications in neuroimaging journals.

Advanced knowledge of programming in Matlab and Python.

Demonstrated ability to interpret statistical results in the field of neuroimaging.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

PhD in psychology or neuroscience required.
