To qualify for cross training, you must obtain a PALS, NRP and BLS certificate before you apply. QualificationsEducational Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.
License/Certification Requirements:
California State RN License required
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP Certificates by ARC or AHA are required for certain units and for cross training consideration. (cross- training is based on organizational staffing needs)
RN III: Specialty certification by the ANCC is required. CCRN, CEN and PCCN specialty certificates are high preferred. (external applicants may obtain within 1 year of hire)
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years recent RN experience in specialty. (Minimum 3-years recent acute RN experience for RN II)
Experience in two or more nursing specialty areas:
Adult Med/Surg,Tele & PCU
Adult ICU & PCU
Women’s Services
Neonatal, Peds & PICU
Emergency Services
Must be a Clinical Nurse II at CSMC for at least one (1) year to be promoted within the clinical ladder.
