This position is contingent on contract award.This position is located in Columbia, MO.This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.  The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below: International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is looking for an individual who is an experienced Anesthesiologist to administer anesthesia and monitor patients' vital signs during surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process. Additionally, the anesthesiologist is responsible for managing pain relief before, during, and after surgery, providing comprehensive care tailored to each patient's needs. Key Responsibilities:Be present on time for any scheduled clinics or surgeries as documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time.  Provide comprehensive clinical anesthesiology services including patients undergoing cardiac surgery, orthopedic joint replacement, and major vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, plastic, ENT, urologic and ophthalmologic operations.  Provide clinical care of patients undergoing electroconvulsive therapy, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, electrophysiology, gastrointestinal and radiological suites.  Provide primary coverage for all patients in the surgical intensive care, short stay unit, acute and chronic pain management services, diagnostic trans esophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients, and emergency airway management.  Provide consultative services at the patient’s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory, and in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic.  Follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.  Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Anesthesiology clinical or surgical patients. Provide notification of test results for patients receiving care in accordance with VHA Directive 1088, Communicating Test Results to Providers and Patients. Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by the VA facility Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee. Attend staff meetings as required by the VA facility Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee. Complete the appropriate QM and PI documentation pertaining to all procedures, complications and outcome of examinations. Follow all established patient safety and infection control standards of care. Complete required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
