ResponsibilitiesAs the Management Service Officer III (MSO III), you willoversee the work of approximately 15+ Hospital Laboratory Technicians andcoordinate and supervise all activities of the Processing section of the ClinicalMicrobiology laboratory. Additional duties include implementing long rangeplanning and growth, coordinating, organizing, staffing and supervising to meetbudget and productivity goals, staff personnel, expenditure control, spaceutilization, help solve managerial and/or program problems, building equipmentsecurity and maintenance and other services which support the functions of theBrentwood Microbiology Processing section. QualificationsMust have excellent customer service skills, ability to work cooperatively and cohesively as a member of a team and promote teamwork in others, as well as effectively communicate with laboratory personnel and medical areas.Knowledge of Clinical Lab test names and their abbreviated forms.Demonstrated working knowledge of medical terminology to include body functions and their systems. Knowledge of infection control procedures.Ability to work rapidly and accurately with attention to detail. Skill in working independently with minimal supervision, organize workflow and priorities to meet expected project deadlines.Ability to perform multitasks in a frequent disruptive environment, if required ability to work flexible hours, with minimal notification.Supervisory experience in a clinical lab, preferredUCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
