Lab Scientist Responsibilities:This role is responsible for executing process development projects, process improvement, scale down, technology transfer, and support of manufacturing operations.

Performs experiments in small scale to assess process changes/improvements

Evaluates performance and suitability of new technologies and process changes by testing and reporting different critical parameters

Performs trials and experiments, participate into the design and scale-up of new technologies

Conducts routine bases analytical tests to evaluate and control product yield, purity and impurity profiles

Works closely with other Lab team members to support the upkeep, maintenance, and efficient utilization of the lab

Write SOPs, batch records, and develop research outlines for development projects

Utilize robust statistical analysis to draw appropriate conclusions from the data.

Requirements

Knowledge of protein purification techniques

Experience in protein process development

Knowledge of analytical tools for analysis of proteins

Experience with DOE (design of experiments), six sigma, and lean manufacturing a plus

Knowledge of GMPs

Good interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication skills

Able to work in cold environment

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with at least 2+ year’s relevant experience

Must be able to push/pull 50 lbs. and lift/carry up to 25 lbs

The position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility

Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning

Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body

No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment

Will work in a cold, wet environment

Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends

9 month assignment
