DescriptionThe National Center of Child Traumatic Stress (NCCTS) is seeking to hire a full time Director for the Service Systems Program to provide leadership to the National Center for Child Traumatic Stress (NCCTS) and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) in all activities related to Service Systems and Anti-Racism, culture, and trauma. The Service Systems Program Director reports to the NCCTS Co-Director, supervises a team of staff and consultants, directs all programs and initiatives of this organizational unit, provides expert leadership to the NCTSN and NCCTS on anti-racism, culture, and the intersection with trauma, and serves as an organization-wide leader within the NCCTS, contributing to planning and policy development across the Center. The Service Systems Program Director establishes strategic plans and vision, directs multiple programs and initiatives with organization-wide impact across the NCTSN, allocates staff and resources in order to meet program goals, and provides expert training and technical assistance to NCTSN members, centers, and collaborative groups. Across both the NCCTS and the NCTSN, the Service Systems Program Director often initiates, leads, and develops projects of significance to the organization as well as external to the organization and is often in highly visible spaces that require diplomatic navigation in, at times, a politically sensitive environment.Key Job Duties include:

Supervise Service Systems Program staff

Direct all programs and initiatives in the Service Systems area

Provide expert leadership to the NCTSN and NCCTS on anti-racism, culture, and trauma

Serve as an organizational leader for the NCCTS

Doctoral degree in clinical psychology, social work, or related mental health field preferred.

Expert knowledge of multiple systems that serve traumatized children, such as the child protective system, the public mental health and substance abuse systems, the juvenile justice system, victim assistance programs, the foster care system, law enforcement, public health and primary care systems, and the public school system.

Experience working in child-serving systems such as the child welfare system, juvenile justice system, and public schools.

Expert knowledge of principles of culturally responsive, anti-racist, trauma-informed care for traumatized children and their families and the relationship between access to services and cultural background.

Management and administrative skills, and supervisory experience.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Knowledge and experience related to research methodology, data collection, quality improvement, and program evaluation in the field of child traumatic stress.

Ability to work independently and proactively, and adapt to shifting priorities, under demanding timeframes.

High level of skill in written and verbal communication, including skill as a trainer and presenter, and skill in writing reports, operating policies and procedures, public policy recommendations, etc., that are clear, concise, and compelling.

Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of people and lead virtual teams.

Five (5) years experience preferred
