Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a civil litigation attorney in Los Angeles, California. This role will require the candidate to handle various aspects of civil litigation, including motion drafting, propounding and responding to discovery, and other litigation functions as assigned. This Downtown Los Angeles firm maintains a flexible hybrid schedule and provides parking for contractors. Responsibilities: Handle various aspects of civil litigation including drafting motions and responses. Propound and respond to discovery requests in a timely and efficient manner. Utilize case management software to keep track of all case documents and deadlines. Use legal software, such as LexisNexis, for research and case preparation. Prepare and present briefing documents for trial. Handle civil litigation cases, ensuring all legal standards and regulations are adhered to. Manage customer complaints and resolve them in a legal and ethical manner. Respond to discovery responses and ensure all relevant information is provided. Collaborate with other attorneys/lawyers on case management and development. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, court decisions, and changes in laws and regulations.Requirements Possess a law degree from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice law in CA. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a law firm. Proficiency in using Case Management Software and Legal software. Familiarity with LexisNexis. Experience in briefing, civil litigation, complaint handling, and discovery responses. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. High level of professionalism and ethical standards. Commitment to ongoing legal education and professional growth.
