Worship Leader Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Plan out weekly Sunday worship service. Choosing congregational hymns and contemporary songs that engage the congregation.

Modeling and leading heartfelt worship in an invitational style – that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus.

Recruiting, auditioning, teaching, and training musicians in the church to serve the congregation as a team with musical skill and humility.

Leading weekly rehearsals that serve a dual purpose:

Discipline the worship team with Biblical truth.

Building on our traditions and having a vision for where God might be calling our congregation and our musicians to grow in new expressions of worship.

Serving as a member of the ministry team at LBFC and demonstrating a commitment to this congregation and its mission.

Oversee the AV/Tech team and volunteers.

Educate individuals to take the lead in particular area of strength, like media, communications, video, training, preaching, youth, etc.

Move beyond a mainly musical role with the team to a more pastoral role with the team, cultivating a worship community of singers and instrumentalists within your church.

Work under the leadership of the lead pastor.

Special events as needed: (Weddings/Memorial Services/Special Events)

Additional tasks as needed or assigned by pastor

THIS INDIVIDUAL IS EXPECTED TO:

Be gifted in leading congregational worship.

Possess leadership and organizational skills.

Be a team player.

Youth Leader Job Description:

This individual works in partnership with the Lead Pastor, to direct a Youth Ministry, growing disciples of Christ 12-18 years of age. This person will minister to youth and their families. We seek a spiritually mature, biblical, prayerful Christian gifted in leadership, bringing encouragement and vision for the youth ministry and the church as a whole.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

· Leads the Youth Ministry and coordinates the training of others to do likewise.

· Engaging and passionate teacher who brings practical life application to the Scriptures.

· Coordinate the weekly youth gatherings.

· Provides opportunities for youth and their families to be directly involved in missions and ministry.

· Encourages youth to participate in personal worship and praise through preaching, music, and service activities.

· Plan, implement and evaluate the annual youth group calendar.

· Develop and administer an annual budget for the youth ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church.

· Share the gospel with youth/students and parents on an ongoing basis, both individually and cooperatively.

· Additional tasks as needed or assigned by pastor

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

First and foremost, a Youth Leader is a mature, devout follower of Jesus Christ, is faithful in the pursuit of God including prayer, study, and application of the Word, and is committed to our purpose as believers: To Love God, Love People and Make Disciples. He/she is also a gifted teacher and has a passion for leading youth in a relationship with God. This person is willing to humbly work in partnership with the Senior Pastor, Elders and Staff. He/she is a gifted communicator, leader, and has a heart for Christ’s Church. This person works well in a team, is creative, collaborative, organized, warm and outgoing, familiar with and enthusiastic about serving Jesus, and has a heart for the un-churched.

Other qualifications are as follows:

Spiritual growth, evident by practicing the marks of Christian discipleship.

Aligned with LBFC’s Statement of Faith, doctrinal positions, mission, and core values.

Possesses personality, temperament, and interpersonal skills to relate and serve effectively within a multi-generational congregation setting.

Exhibits evidence of Christian character and servant leadership in professional and personal environments.

Demonstrates evidence of a spiritually balanced life (prayer, Bible study, rest, worship, financial stewardship).

Demonstrates a strong work ethic and personal integrity.
