SPANISH INSTRUCTOR
Children's language program is seeking part-time SPANISH instructors to teach children in afterschool classes in Pasadena, South Pasadena, La Cañada and Glendale areas.
We are looking for qualified instructors that besides teaching the Spanish language are able to incorporate art, music, dance, dramatic storytelling, etc. into their teaching.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
-Native speakers or near-native speakers who love the Spanish language and its culture.
-Must have experience working with children (may include teaching languages, but could also be children's drama, dance, music, or other activities like a camp counselor, or after-school teacher/supervisor).
-Effective teaching abilities
- College graduate or college student, preferably with some Child Development units, or majoring in one of our target languages, education, linguistics or child development.
-Must be fun, patient, creative, reliable, responsible, professional, flexible, outgoing, energetic, dramatic, positive, and organized.
-Capable of keeping kids engaged while teaching the target language.
-Must have the ability to come up with different fun and creative instructional games and activities to teach the target language.
-Prepare and teach great enrichment classes in the target language.
-Communicate with parents informally about their children's progress.
-Attend training sessions designed to improve your abilities as a teacher.
-Contribute to curriculum development with your ideas, experience, and knowledge.

These are teaching opportunities of 6 to 10 hours per week, and they take place mostly between 1:30pm to 4:30pm. These positions are ideal for college students or stay-at-home moms. Classes run throughout the school year on weekdays and weekends. The hourly pay is $30
The number of classes will depend on your availability. Ideal candidates must live close to the areas mentioned and have reliable transportation to commute to the schools.
