The job: We’re looking for a well-rounded applicant to join our household team (LONG-TERM JOB) with our kiddos. About the position:
SEEKING: A CHEERFUL NANNY (WHO CAN ALSO ORGANIZE WHEN KIDS ARE NOT HOME) IN BRENTWOOD
Full-time, long-term job with great benefits, approx 49 hours per week.
- Compensation is approx $82,000 per year. Includes: excellent health insurance, additional cell phone allowance, paid vacation, sick days, and five floating holidays (you choose). You must have excellent references. We use PAYROLL. We are really fair with overtime pay.
- Searching for a highly organized, nurturing, patient nanny to add to our lovely team to help w/ the kiddos and maintain our home organization and run errands. We already have cleaning help.
Our beloved nanny is moving. She will train you so you can hear about the job from someone who does it. We treat our staff with appreciation and kindness; they are also very kind to one another.
Our three kiddos are in elementary school full-time. This job involves a combo of time with the kids when they are home (breakfast + helping us get them ready in AM + PM) or home w/a sick child (as needed) or when school is off. Lots of organization for sports + busy schedules during mid-day.
When the kids are out, there’s overflow laundry, organizing, some cooking. Childcare comes first; we already have full-time housekeeping, but we always need help assisting family needs, coming up with enrichment ideas, projects, cleanup, new recipes, etc.
You are upbeat, a team player, great communicator, have positive energy and bring warmth to a home. Bonus if you have a sense of humor (we do!) MUST work well with others. We are comfortable talking about emotions and discipline in a positive way. Our kids are kind, respectful, and well behaved. We’re not old fashioned about parenting (i.e, we do not use “time-outs”). We have excellent, open communication with our team and value your input. There are calm times (breaks) and busy times in our home. This position requires an intuitive multitasker who knows when to hustle and pick up pace during busy times.
HOURS: We have a regular schedule, but there will be times that we might ask you to stay longer or arrive earlier, so flexibility is appreciated. Promptness is very important.
Monday, Thurs, Friday are longer days (7am – 7:45pm; note: Friday goes until 8pm). Tuesday & Wednesday are short days (7am – 12:30pm) so you can make your own appointments after work and dodge traffic. If you have a hard out-time, this won’t be a job fit. You’ll rarely work past 8 pm, but occasionally we need flexibility.
You must be fully Covid vaxxed (self & household) + get flu shots EVERY year.
You must truly love children. Our lives are focused on creating a positive, fun, and supportive environment for our KIND, CREATIVE, athletic kids. You do not get exasperated quickly. You are willing to follow our parenting style + receptive to feedback without being defensive.
You are a Morning person. Occasionally we may need weekend help (RARE, maybe 2-3x a year).
Loving and fun … All 3 kids play sports (several uniforms to track + schedules to follow). Each day is different; the hours go quickly Our house is a happy, organized circus. Ideally, you like reading, art projects, and having fun. We limit screentime. We have a lot of fun here
ABOUT YOU:
- Help with packing before we travel and unbox daily deliveries.
- Help inventory supplies. If things are out of place, you are proactive. You finish a task without reminders and keep a list. You’re eager to pitch in—walking dogs, organizing a pantry, lunch prep. We are understanding and know it’s hard to learn it all at once
- You are comfortable following a LIST and don’t need to be closely managed. You are a self-starterand think ahead to make the next day run smoothly. You are energetic.
- Must be comfortable with three medium-size hypoallergenic dogs – walking, feeding, etc. They get professionally groomed regularly and do not shed.
- If your English isn’t perfect, it’s ok. We speak some Spanish + love practicing
- Driving record must be clean. You are a safe, smooth driver (comfortable w/ freeways) and will drive the kids (in our safe SUVs), but you need a reliable car to get to work.
- Meals … you coordinate some weekly simple, healthy snacks + lunches/dinners and can follow a simple recipe. Nothing fancy, but you are comfortable in the kitchen. We are open to your ideas! Our Nanny can train you on some recipes that work.
- Dependable, trustworthy, excellent judgment, strong work ethic. Family has a high-profile company. Discretion w/ security + confidentiality w/ family info.
- Ideal candidate could travel with us on short trips a few times a year.
- We provide a phone allowance and ask you to answer texts in a timely manner. No need for “high tech”, but basic tech (like online ordering) is important.
