We are a small independent tutoring company founded by classroom teachers, with offices in Culver City and Manhattan Beach. We are hiring at both locations, part-time to start immediately:
Mon-Thurs
2:00-8:00 plus one additional meeting weekly
Sat afternoon once a month
This is a part-time, in-person employee position at our center.
Additional hours and health insurance/retirement benefits may be available as you grow with the team.
Our program is growing and we have multiple positions open (see our other listings here for the Manhattan Beach office).
We serve 4th-12th graders, so this is for you if you are an experienced middle or high school teacher. You would be working collaboratively on a small, highly professional team including the owner/CEO. The hours are consistent and the environment is supportive. We work in-person at our centers in a dynamic group setting but with opportunity to do one-on-one and very small group instruction. There is a strong feeling of community and also a great chance to get to know students very well over a period of years.
Specifically, we are seeking expertise in the following areas:
In Culver City:
English and/or History background with ability to coach middle and high school students in either domain in advanced literacy including reading comprehension, analytical writing process and AP-level essays and study strategies.
"Dealbreaker" qualifications (we will not consider your application unless you have):
classroom teaching experience in the last five years in middle or high school in Southern California
reliable availability - this is an employee position in-person at our center, with steady hours during the school year
ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
small group classroom management skills
high positive energy like a coach or camp counselor
completion of the cover letter (see below)
