APLA Health’s mission is to achieve health care equity and promote well-being for the LGBT and other underserved communities and people living with and affected by HIV. We are a nonprofit, federally qualified health center serving more than 14,000 people annually. We provide 20 different services from 15 locations throughout Los Angeles County, including: medical, dental, and behavioral health care; PrEP counseling and management; health education and HIV prevention; and STD screening and treatment. POSITION SUMMARY:

You will report to the Facilities Manager as you perform all duties relating to the maintenance of agency real property and assets in order to preserve a safe and aesthetically appealing work environment. As part of the facilities team, assist with daily operations, ensure inventory availability, perform routine and preventative maintenance, grounds keeping, and occasional janitorial duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Handle supply requests and monitor/restock supplies in all areas.

Maintain Employee Parking Program.

Physically maintain Key Control List, order, and Distribution of Keys while keeping a database in Excel, Word, and Adobe.

Oversee mailroom and/or copy center as required.

Operate and maintain the use of our postage meter including generating monthly billing reports for all areas of mailing.

Responsible for logging and distributing incoming mailing for all of APLA facilities and coordinating package delivery and pick-ups.

Print and distribute copies/posters as requested by departments.

Format business cards for printing.

Generate and maintain the agency phone directory.

Maintain storage areas at our Kingsley facility and other facilities as assigned.

Provide support to all team members of the Facilities team.

Provide set-up assistance for office setups, moves and special events when needed.

In conjunction with the general maintenance worker maintains all agency coffee stations, their inventory, and provisioning.

Assist in the close observation of general building conditions (internal and external), including basic janitorial, plumbing, and lighting, to preserve a safe and aesthetically appealing work environment. Assist in correcting conditions as warranted.

OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED TO MEET BUSINESS NEEDS.

REQUIREMENTS:

Training and Experience:

High school diploma or GED certificate. Experience with facilities maintenance and 1 year previous office experience. Excellent time management and organizational skills required.

Knowledge of:

Knowledge of standard safety practices using equipment and other requirements for workplace safety. Knowledge of operating standard office equipment. Knowledge of Microsoft Suites.

Ability to:

Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with staff, volunteers and the public. Able to learn procedures quickly and meet deadlines. Ability to be attentive to details of cleanliness to facilities. Able to research pricing for items needed to address submitted work orders.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This is a physically demanding position. Throughout a standard shift, you must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. This position requires driving up to 50% of the time. This position requires daily use of a personal computer to view and enter data, and occasionally will work on a ladder. Must be fully ambulatory; have 20/20 eyesight, or wear corrective lenses. Ability to work indoors and outdoors and in confined spaces.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

COVID Vaccination and booster required or medical/religious exemption. Must possess a valid California driver’s license; proof of auto liability insurance; and have the use of a personal vehicle for work-related purposes. On rare occasions may have to work a few hours on the weekend.
