This position is for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper with a strong emphasis on construction accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all accounting activities, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger management.

Perform accurate and timely billing for construction projects, including progress billing, AIA billing, and retention tracking.

Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and project budgets.

Manage job costs and regularly review Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedules to provide insights to project managers.

Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.

Collaborate with project managers to maintain accurate job costing and support financial decision-making.

Use and adapt to financial software like QuickBooks for Construction and Excel for detailed reporting.

Support external auditors, tax preparers, and internal stakeholders with documentation and reports.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience in the construction industry.

Strong understanding of construction accounting practices, including percentage of completion, WIP schedules, and over/under billings.

Proficiency with QuickBooks (Construction Edition or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills.

Solid understanding of tax compliance and financial reporting requirements specific to the construction industry.

Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
