Smith Mandel and Associates, LLP, a growing CPA firm in beautiful Burbank, is seeking an Accounting Manager who is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and managing the production of financial reports for a company, ensuring compliance with regulations and accounting standards. They also analyze financial data to support business decision-making and may manage communications with auditors or regulators.

Responsibilities:

Prepare financial statements, compliances, review audits, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring they are accurate and compliant with accounting standards like GAAP.

Analyze financial statements and other data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

Manage Financial Reporting Process from data collection to report preparation and distribution.

Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements and ensure the company's financial reporting complies with them.

Prepare and present financial reports to management, shareholders, and other stakeholders, explaining key findings and trends.

Work with auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance of financial statements during audits.

Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decisions.

Supervise and mentor team members involved in financial reporting.

Streamline and improve the financial reporting process through the implementation of new technologies and methodologies.

Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process by preparing budget analyses and forecasts.

Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and check on new technology

Meet with Clients, understand their businesses and their needs

Skills And Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is typically required.

Professional Certifications: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is a must.

Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends and variances.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain complex financial information.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet programs.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve financial reporting issues.

Attention to Detail: Accuracy and precision are essential in financial reporting.

Teamwork and Leadership Skills: Ability to work effectively with others and manage a team, if applicable.
