Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, with experience in the construction and property management sectors. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Beverly Hills, CA. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the accounting department with financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger functions, contributing to both construction projects and property management operations.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and updating the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process and manage invoices, vendor payments, and receipts, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Project Cost Tracking: Support the tracking and allocation of costs for construction projects, ensuring accuracy in job costing and project budgets.
Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
Tax Compliance: Assist with preparing and filing tax returns, including sales tax, property tax, and other relevant filings.
Audit Support: Prepare and organize financial documents and records for internal and external audits.
Vendor & Client Communication: Communicate with vendors and clients regarding invoicing, payments, and discrepancies as needed.
Financial Data Entry: Perform data entry into accounting software and systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience: At least 2-3 years of accounting experience, with a preference for candidates with experience in construction or property management industries.
Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Yardi, Timberline, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately process and verify financial data.
Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Team Player: A collaborative mindset with the ability to work well within a team and support the overall goals of the accounting department.
Preferred Skills:
Basic understanding of construction project accounting and property management financial processes.
Familiarity with job costing, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.
Knowledge of tax regulations, including sales tax, property tax, and payroll tax.
