We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Long Beach, CA.Position Summary: The Staff Accountant will play a key role in our accounting department, responsible for supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic industry with a company that values growth and development.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations
Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support various accounting projects and initiatives
Assist in the preparation of tax filings and other regulatory reports
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
