Description We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Staff Accountant to join our finance team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have some accounting experience, preferably in the logistics industry, and will support various accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in processing invoices, payments, and collections, ensuring accurate and timely recording.
General Ledger Maintenance: Support the maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
Bank Reconciliations: Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash records.
Data Entry: Ensure accurate and timely entry of financial data into accounting systems.
Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies.
Supporting Month-End Close: Assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Audit Support: Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform other accounting duties as assigned by the senior accounting team
Requirements
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the logistics industry.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Knowledge: Basic understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and other departments.
Team Player: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience in a contract or temporary accounting role is a plus.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the logistics or supply chain industry is advantageous.
