Job Title: Construction AdministratorJob Description: As a Construction Administrator, you will represent the company and ensure the accuracy of drawings. You will need to be proficient with both paper and digital drawings, have a tablet equipped with Bluebeam, and review submittals against plans and specifications. You will address daily RFIs, coordinate with consultants, and prepare CCDs throughout the course of construction.Responsibilities:
Facilitate communication between the Owner, Contractors, Materials, and Trades.
Respond to pre-bid RFIs and coordinate with consultants, clients, and the construction team.
Assist the PM with preparing addenda, bid analysis, and providing input on Value Engineering items.
Review submittals against contract drawings and specifications, and prepare Construction Change Directives (CCDs).
Attend weekly construction progress meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and review work onsite weekly to ensure contract compliance.
Prepare and distribute Field Observation Reports, address client-related matters promptly, review and sign payment applications, and prepare and distribute punch lists.
Essential Skills:
Strong architectural knowledge and experience.
Experience with educational projects.
Proven experience in construction administration.
Ability to understand and interpret design documents.
Experience with managing change orders.
Experience working on-site with the Division of the State Architect (DSA).
Ability to pass a Live Scan check.
Experience with school tenant improvement (TI) projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with strong multitasking skills.
Excellent organization and time management abilities.
Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance for site visits.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, and various project management software programs (e.g., Primavera, Unifier, Procore).
Strong communication skills for effective interoffice and intraoffice coordination.
Ability to receive direction from higher-level team members and lead Construction Administration Assistant(s).
Degree in architecture or construction management.
Work Environment: You will not be in a construction trailer every day, as a DSA inspector will be onsite. The role involves an office environment with frequent site visits and travel requirements. A hybrid schedule is offered: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote. A company car and gas card are provided. Projects range from San Diego to San Joaquin County. Team sizes vary depending on the project (1-5 people), and honorary team members include Construction Admin, Architect of Record, and PM. Work hours depend on the job site schedule and can start as early as 6:30 AM.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
