Position Summary:

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is responsible for supporting the IT needs of UC Irvine faculty, students, and staff. Our mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education, and community service goals of the University. The OIT ServiceNow Administration and Development Team is responsible for managing the enterprise-level, campuswide ServiceNow platform including vendor contract management, system/platform administration, system and module configuration, operational management and support, and custom application development across all platform modules used now and into the future.

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, ServiceNow Administration and Development, the ServiceNow Administrator, applies professional programming concepts for small to medium-sized projects or portions of larger projects. Resolves a variety of programming design and implementation issues. Works on programming assignments of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. As an intermediate-level application developer on the OIT ServiceNow Administration and Development team, the candidate develops, configures, maintains, and supports the central administration of the ServiceNow platform including all deployed platform modules. The candidate develops, configures, maintains, and supports ServiceNow data and service/process integrations. The candidate also develops, maintains, and supports customer-facing custom software applications built using the ServiceNow applications platform. The candidate must be able to communicate clearly with users, analyze and document user requirements, implement security requirements, implement functional and non-functional requirements, and document workflows, data flows and business rules. Must code, test, debug, analyze data (including creating reports) and maintain enterprise application capabilities in the ServiceNow platform.

Required:

One (1) to three (3) years of experience with BA/BS OR zero (0) to one (1) year with MA/MS OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. ServiceNow administration and development experience: Two plus (2+) years

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Intermediate-level knowledge of and experience with the ServiceNow platform administration, configuration, and development. Knowledge of secure software development and general IT security principles. Intermediate skills associated with the design, development, modification, and deployment of software. Knowledge of ITIL and ITSM principles. Demonstrated ability to develop and follow software specifications. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
