PIPE FITTER/FABRICATION/REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN

Purpose
This position is primarily in the field of maintenance service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on dry-freeze equipment
Repair common refrigeration and electrical failures
Soft soldering and Soft soldering and silver brazing to 2 1/8”, including copper to dissimilar metals (i.e., brass and
stainless steel) O.D. required
Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions
Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or
power tools
Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or
Equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices
Order parts, supplies, or equipment from vendors
Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work
And other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not require the employee to supervise other employees
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Working knowledge of refrigeration diagnostics and electrical trouble-shooting equipment
High school diploma and/or equivalent required. Vocational courses in areas of HVAC/R and refrigeration license
required
Experience in maintenance, installation, repair to HVAC/R or freeze-drying equipment
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Knowledge
Mechanical - Basic electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical knowledge and skills including repair and maintenance.
Work Attire
Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
Work Setting
Requires working indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions
Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people
Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions
Requires travel to locations throughout the United States
