Jr IT Project Manager - Riverside, CA

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The IT Project Manager responsibilities include scoping, designing and implementing projects. Working closely with internal Account Management, Engineering, and Security Departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and on point according to customers’ expectations. Work with external customer vendors is frequent. We are looking for an IT Project Manager who is passionate about effective communication and coordination with customers around new, ongoing, or future projects. An understanding of technology, business practices, and analysis is critical to success in this position.
DUTIES
Drive project delivery through effective use of resources while working with internal contacts and applicable vendors.
Manage projects throughout entire project lifecycle, including scoping, planning, implementation, and closure.
Provide technology strategy planning.
Develop comprehensive project plans with Engineering collaboration.
Communicate proactively and effectively with all project stake holders, both internal and external.
Monitor project health and provide bi-weekly and monthly status reports to internal management and customer’s point of contact.
Work with Management teams to ensure accurate prioritization of projects and duties.
Develop technical plans with Engineering collaboration.
Manage complex IT-related projects, including the implementation and/or migration of: Microsoft/Office365, Azure, network refresh projects, manage server and PC refresh projects.
Resource management.
Project risk management.
Problem management.
Capacity planning.
Assure that projects complete according to schedule and within budget.
Travel to customer sites during the scoping and implementation phases of the project.
Dispatch and resources management of project implementation staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, facilitation, organizational, prioritization, decision making, and conflict resolution skills.
Fundamental understanding of project management methodology including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications, perform resource allocations and run team meetings.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to set priorities and solve problems without requiring frequent supervision.
Ability to independently manage multiple tasks with conflicting priorities, projects, and stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to evaluate solutions and issues and to defer to the expertise of the technical team.
Develop and continuously improve project governance processes.
Produce regular management reporting of project progress and data.
Coordinate implementations and facilitate communication with business and technical staff.
Produce regular status reports, issue resolution, and documentation.
Review goods and services contracts for technical, functional, and strategic fit.
Conduct feasibility studies in preparation for recommendations of appropriate technology solutions to business problems/opportunities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in related field, which may include Computer Science, Business, or Engineering, required. Applicable work experience may be substituted for education.
Proven work experience leading projects; a minimum of 2-years fulltime experience in project coordination or management capacity required.
Hands on experience with concepts, practices, and procedures related to the IT field.
Demonstrated leadership capability, preferably with technical teams.
PHYICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, interacting with others through written forms, voice, phone, and video conferences. Must be able to move to 25 pounds at a time. Able to provide verbal instruction to others. Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.
OPENINGS
Full-time position available now. Position is on-site in the Riverside office, so only candidates willing and able to commute should apply. Potential for working evenings and weekends, depending on project needs. Open until filled. Applicants subject to background checks, and successful completion of a Live Scan required to work with certain clients.
COMPENSATION
$25-28/hour, non-exempt, depending on experience. Plus benefits (medical, dental, chiropractic, vision, participation in 401K).
