Position Summary
The Tree Service Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining strong client
relationships, generating sales opportunities, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality tree care
services. This role serves as the primary liaison between clients and production crews, managing
accounts from proposal through completion, with a focus on customer satisfaction, safety, and company
profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts (HOAs, schools, property management
companies, and commercial properties).
Conduct site visits to review tree conditions, job progress, and client concerns.
Ensure timely communication before, during, and after services are performed.
Maintain a high standard of customer service to retain and grow accounts.
Sales & Account Growth
Prepare, present, and follow up on proposals and estimates.
Identify upsell opportunities for additional services (plant health care, pest management, tree planting,
maintenance contracts).
Meet or exceed monthly/annual sales and revenue targets.
Track account activity, pipeline, and opportunities using company CRM or industry software (e.g.,
ArborNote, Aspire).
Operations Support
Coordinate with production managers, arborists, and crews to ensure scheduled work is performed to
client expectations.
Review work orders and scope of work for accuracy, clarity, and profitability.
Address any issues that arise on-site and ensure resolutions are communicated to clients promptly.
Monitor job profitability, production hours, and client satisfaction.
Technical Knowledge & Advising
Perform tree assessments to identify health, safety, and risk issues.
Provide clients with expert guidance on proper tree care, pruning standards, removals, and risk
mitigation.
Stay current on industry standards (ANSI A300, ISA Best Management Practices, CTLA guidelines).
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience in tree care, landscaping, or related service industry (account
management or sales preferred).
ISA Certified Arborist (or ability to obtain within 12 months) preferred but not required.
Strong communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
Ability to recognize tree health, safety, and risk issues.
Experience working with HOAs, schools, and property management companies a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and industry-specific software (ArborNote, Aspire, etc.).
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Performance Expectations
Maintain and grow a portfolio of accounts valued at $500k–$1M annually.
Achieve sales goals (new contracts, upsells, renewals) as set by management.
Ensure client retention rate of 90% or higher.
Maintain average job profitability within company targets.
Conduct a minimum of 10 client site visits per week.
