We are a 35-year-old manufacturer of round carbide cutting tools located in Riverside, CA. We are expanding and are in need of Full Time Manufacturing Production Planner for our manufacturing plant. The Production Planner is responsible for ensuring our CNC & Grinding machines are adequately stocked with work orders (travelers) and raw materials for manufacturing operates to manufacture finished goods. This person is the liaison between sales and manufacturing and is responsible to ensure our inventories are at adequate levels and backorders are addressed in a timely manner.

Duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prioritizes incoming orders based on due dates and customer/organizational priorities. Ensures tools are made in a timely manner.

Works with Sales Management to ensure priority of work and meet established deadlines.

Works with Purchasing Department to ensure raw materials are available as needed.

Works with Engineering staff to determine what raw materials are needed for manufacturing.

Works with CNC & OD operators to ensure materials are on hand and ready to be manufactured. Ensures there is no down-time on machines due to a lack of work orders or materials.

Manage and create all material work orders; works with engineering on drawings for each tool to be created.

Pulls daily Back Order Reports and Raw Material Reports to insure timely delivery of finished tools.

Works with Manufacturing Plan Manager in organization of daily work schedule of parts to be produced.

Partner with Production teams to anticipate upcoming PO volume, orders, and cancellations

Develop specific objectives with an emphasis on cost reduction, quality improvement, technology development, on time delivery, inventory reduction, lead-time reduction and customer focus.

Other tasks assigned by management and deemed necessary to the operation of the position and/or organization.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3 to 5 years work experience in a Manufacturing Environment preferred but not required.

MUST have strong computer skills to include Excel. MUST BE ORGANIZED.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail.

Should be creative in their approach to work recommending improvement for work flow.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

BA/BS degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or relevant field required.
