Job Description:
The Optometric Assistant's role is important - this person provides the first impression for patients coming into an Optometry office, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience. An Optometric Assistant greets patients arriving for appointments and serves as the primary contact for patients. In addition, they are responsible for the day-to-day functions of the optometry office. They handle all front-desk and administrative-support responsibilities. Front-desk duties include scheduling appointments, checking-in and discharging patients, answering phones, accepting payments, processing insurance, computer data entry, maintaining the cleanliness of the waiting room, and other important duties.

Pre-Testing Patient Vision
Answer Phone
Schedule Appointments
Authorizing Insurance and Billing
Computer Data Entry
Teaching Contact Lens Care and Use
Maintain Cleanliness of Office
Keeping Track of Office Supplies
Maintain Office Equipment
Job Requirements:
Receptionists working in optometry offices must have excellent customer service communication and time management skills. They must also be professional, friendly, courteous, composed, and a team player. Some prior medical office experience and knowledge of testing procedures, charts, and health insurance billing practices preferred but not required.
Must Be Fluent In English and Spanish
Able to Multitask and Respond to the Needs of the Patients and Other Medical Staff
Contact lens wearer or knowledge of contact lens training recommended
Computer Knowledge (excel, word) and Typing (>50 wpm)
Good Organization
High School Diploma or Its Equivalent.
Able to Work Efficiently in Times of High Patient Flow
Willing to learn and Eager to Help
Strong work ethic, self starter, great communication skills, and a positive attitude is a MUST

Full-time job available, 4-5 days per week, no nights & weekends
Compensation will be based on experience
On-the-job training
