Live In Caregiver

California, Inland empire 00000 Inland empire USA

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated LIVE-in companion for our elderly Mother in San Bernardino, CA. In return for FREE room and board at our Moms house, we will also provide a monthly stipend of $3,000.

Our Mom is suffering from lung cancer and is currently at home under hospice care. She needs someone with her 24 hours a day. So while we do have a day-time caregiver that comes to her house every morning, she leaves around 5 pm so we need someone to live at the home with my Mom; one who can physically be in the house with her in 'evening to dawn hours' (around 5 pm to 6:30 am every day). Our Mom needs to remain hooked up to oxygen 24 hours a day, every day. Most, if not all, of her medical needs are taken care of by her day-time caregiver (meal prep, medicines, breathing treatments, bathing, etc.). So what we are hoping to find is someone who can live in the house to be with her overnight to offer companionship and in case of emergency.

Duties

- Light dinner meal prep (occasionally)

- Check oxygen levels

- Very light house cleaning

- Offer emotional support and companionship

- Remain in the home during the 5 pm and 6:30 am hours in case of emergency.

- Maintain a clean and safe environment.

- Accept evening deliveries (groceries, prescription delivery, hospice equipment)

- Communicate effectively with the daughters who live in another city and also hospice care via phone and text as needed.

- Experience in eldery care preferred.

- Must have the patience and compassion to deal with a terminal eldery person.

- Familiarity with individuals with minor cognitive challenges is a plus.

You must be willing to to undergo a thorough background check and again, be willing to be with our Mom during 'evening to dawn' hours, or at least until her day time caregiver arrives in the morning. While the day-time caregiver is at the house, you would be free to leave and go about your day - but you must be back before the day-time caregiver goes home.
