Therapeutic Early Intervention Specialist

HOURLY PAY RANGE: $20.20 to 22.84/hour (depending on experience, education, etc.) plus mileage reimbursement

Positions start as part-time hours (about 20-25 per week); potential to quickly build up to full-time hours - depending on availability and caseload in the area

COVERAGE AREAS FOR THIS POSITION (caseload would not include ALL of these areas, but these are the areas we need coverage):

San Gabriel Valley

Covina

La Puente

Ontario

Rancho Cucamonga

Chino

Fontana

Riverside/San Bernardino

And surrounding areas

As an Early Intervention Specialist you will be part of a team that provides therapeutic and specialized services for infants and toddlers with intellectual or developmental disabilities in-home where they can naturally learn and develop.

- Plan, schedule and provide weekly early educational in-home services for a caseload of infant/toddlers with disabilities including developmental delays and programs for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.

- Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.

- Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development, for each individual child, utilizing best practices.

- Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting, child development, and provide parents with written weekly activities and effective coaching.

- Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.

Qualifications:

- REQUIRED: High School diploma; PREFERRED: Bachelor’s Degree or some college in Early Childhood education or Human Development is highly desired

- PREFERRED: One year experience working with infants or young children and their parents; some experience working with children, youth or adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities; Special Education aides encouraged to apply!

- PREFERRED: ABA or Behavioral Intervention or Technician experience is HIGHLY DESIRED

- REQUIRED: Valid CA driver’s license in good standing; also must have at least one year as a licensed driver (in any US state)

- REQUIRED: Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance

- REQUIRED: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

- REQUIRED: Effective communication skills to manage relationships a compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do

- REQUIRED: Flexible availability - you set your own schedule, need to be available to meet with the children when parents are available which could be daytime hours but is often in the afternoon/evenings and can include weekend hours.
