Detailed Job Description:
We are looking to hire a full-time live-in caregiver for my mom, who is 63 years old and had a stroke in July of 2020.
She has paralysis on the right side of her body (has movement in her right arm and right leg but cannot walk yet). She can talk well and communicate fine, but sometimes has a hard time finding her words and needs someone who can be patient and kind with her (kindness is very important to us).
She also needs assistance with transferring from bed to wheelchair and back, needs assistance with dressing, hygiene, showering, adult brief changing, hair brushing, laundry, keeping her bedroom tidy, linens kept clean on her bed, etc. As well as driving her to outpatient physical therapy appointments weekly (we have a car that you can use to take her in, but you must use your own car for personal errands). Help keep the home tidy as well.
She also needs assistance with medication 3 times per day, meals prepared and served to her, and physical therapy exercises done daily. She generally does not need middle-of-the-night care, but we feel better having someone in the house at night.
My Dad lives in the home and had a stroke as well in 2018. Though he can care for himself, he cannot care for my mom. Your main job will be caring for my mom, but my dad will require help on occasion since he does not have full use of his right arm.
My parents have two dogs that are very friendly with humans (but no other dogs/cats allowed), and my Dad will care for the dogs.
We are looking for someone with caregiving experience, who is compassionate. We also need someone who has experience with lifting/transferring patients to and from wheelchairs.
We are looking for someone who has a clean background, and who does not drink alcohol, does not do drugs, and does not smoke cigarettes.
