I'm looking for a occasional help for my aging dad (82 years) who is declining mentally. I live long distance and cannot always be there for my parents. I need someone who can drive him to get surgery, and bring him back home and provide care while he recovers from surgery. Ideal person would be someone who can speak both Korean and English. We prefer someone who is male, as my dad has tendency to make inappropriate remarks to women.
Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing -> my dad is too lazy to take showers/bath. He needs to be encouraged to take baths/showers.
Prepare Korean meals
Monitor medications and ensure timely administration
Provide companionship through conversation, activities, and emotional support
Assist with mobility and light exercise -> my dad just wants to sleep all day. He needs to be encouraged to move and go for a walk.
Accompany to appointments and outings as needed
Must be able to drive
Cleaning my dad's space, including laundering his bedsheets and clothes.
Assist in technology needs -> my parents often forgot how to turn to the right channel for TV.
We value caregiver who treat my parents like family - with respect, kindness, and gentleness.
We are not sure how often we would need this caregiving service. We just want to try it and see how it goes.
