Earn $80.00 for helping us test a NEW Diabetes Glucose/Ketone Meter. We need HYPERGLYCEMIC DIABETICS to participate. TYPE 1 or TYPE 2. We will be in Chino, CA on Monday April 8th. From 8:30am - 4:30pm. If you choose to participate it will take approx. 30-40 minutes of your time.
TIME SLOTS ARE VERY LIMITED. YOU MUST BE HYPERGLYCEMIC - GLUCOSE READING ABOVE 225 - TO PARTICIPATE. WHEN YOU ARRIVE WE WILL DO A PRE-TEST TO DETERMINE YOUR LEVEL. WE ARE SORRY, BUT IF YOU ARE BELOW THE REQUIRED LEVEL YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE AND YOU WILL NOT BE PAID.
Participants MUST be able to read and write ENGLISH for this study. There is a users manual and product use guide that must be read and specific directions followed during the study. No exceptions!
Compensation is paid as CASH when you have completed the study.
WHAT WE ARE DOING?
We are testing a new Blood Glucose/Ketone meter used in monitoring diabetes in Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetics. We are looking for volunteers to come to our test site and test the NEW GLUCOSE/KETONE METER and allow us to test your blood glucose and ketone levels.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
When you text us your FULL NAME, AGE and DIABETES STATUS and GLUCOSE RANGE to schedule an appointment we will ask you a few background questions and schedule a time for you to come in. When you arrive you will be asked to read and complete a form telling you what we are doing. This is the Informed Consent. You will then have to read the user manual and quick start guide on how to use and operate the NEW Blood Glucose/Ketonbe Meter. (Sorry, the informed consent, user manual, quick start guide is only in ENGLISH so you MUST be able to read and write in English to participate. Additionally, if you require glasses for reading please bring them with you. We are not able to read the manual to you, nor can anyone else read the manual to you. Warning: If we see that you have not read the manual you will be asked to leave and you will not be compensated. The MAIN purpose of the study is to determine if a consumer - like you - can purchase this product at a retail store, take it home and use the product to monitor your diabetes or the diabetes of your child. As such, we are not able to assist you in the study.)
You will then perform 1 Blood Glucose Tests on yourself. (Finger) and 1 Ketone Test on yourself. (Finger) This will include you using a lancet to poke your finger. When you have completed these two tests, our medical professional will collect some blood from your finger tip AND then repeat the two tests and run 2 additional tests on a different device. (1 Glucose and 1 Ketone.) We will then collect a venous blood sample from your arm. This sample is sent ot a lab to provide us a comparison result of your Glucose and Ketone levels. You then will complete a short questionnaire and will then be done.
Note: You will have to "poke" yourself at least 2 times AND our professional will "poke" you at least 4 times. If you are not able to "poke" yourself you will be asked to leave and will not be compensated. We are sorry, but we cannot perform the tests for you.
Note: For this study if you are unable to test yourself - i.e. poke yourself with a lancet and lancet device - you are not able to participate in the study. Additionally, compensation is based on your ability to COMPLETE the study in it's entirety including: testing yourself with the glucose/ketone meter, reading the user manual/quick start guide, allowing us to test you with the new meter, allowing us to collect a blood sample from your finger your completion of the questionnaire at the end of the study. Failure to complete all related activities required means that you will not be compensated because the information or data is incomplete and not usable.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
We are trying to compare the results obtained by you with the NEW glucose/ketone meter with the results obtained by the professional and with the results obtained from a laboratory. This new meter is intended to be sold to the general public should it gain FDA approval.
WHERE and WHEN WILL THIS STUDY TAKE PLACE?
Testing will be Thursday April 11, 2024 in Las Vegas. It will take place at a hotel meeting room. (We will send you the full address once your are scheduled for the testing. Testing will take place from 8:30am - 4:30pm. An appointment is REQUIRED to participate. Please TEXT us at 858-204-8213 to make an appointment. WILL I BE COMPENSATED FOR PARTICIPATING?
After the paperwork, testing and blood collection are completed you will be able to leave. For volunteering to participate you will be paid $80.00 (Note: the whole process should take about 30-40 minutes.) Compensation is in CASH at completion.
