Celebrating 23 years in business, our asphalt paving company constructs parking lots and streets throughout California for facility/property managers and general contractors. We provide asphalt, concrete, seal coating and striping services with some of the most skilled and efficient crews in the industry out of two office locations: in Corona and La Mirada, CA.

Our Corona Production team is looking for a strong experienced Asphalt Paving Superintendent to help supervise, motivate, train and empower Asphalt paving crews with 50 plus employees. This person will successfully lead a team that works together, demonstrates respect, trust, open communication, teamwork, accountability and growth and development.

The successful applicant will have a good working knowledge of asphalt paving from both a general and a technical perspective. Be proficient with math and slope calculations. Have good communication internally and externally; specifically with our production team, sales team, and field crews. Value and exhibit teamwork; that’s how our company operates for success.

Job Posting: Asphalt Paving Superintendent

Hours: Full-Time, Monday-Friday. Additional hours/days may be needed due to the volume of work.

Compensation: Pay scale depends upon experience

Reports to: Chief of Operations/ Director of Production & New Construction

Qualifications: Asphalt Paving Superintendent – Experienced involves:

Minimum if 5 years of experience as an asphalt paving foreman.

Operation of asphalt paving equipment at a proficient level, to include paving machine, screed, roller etc.

Able to read plans.

Able to read survey stakes.

Understanding of and proficiency with slopes, grades, grade checking.

Must have previous experience with asphalt paving and grading.

Must be able to thoroughly understand blueprints and grades.

Must be able to work independently as well as with other crew management, customers, subcontractors and the general public

Must have strong reading, writing, comprehension, and face-to-face, telephone, and electronic means communication skills.

Must demonstrate excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with company policies and safety standards.

Project a positive and cooperative attitude by maintaining courteous and professional conduct with Supervisors, co-workers, customers, and the general public.

Required Skillsets/Character: The successful applicant will have a good working knowledge of asphalt paving from both a general and a technical perspective. They should have a facility with math and slope calculations. Good communication with our production team, as well as our sales department is necessary. We solve problems together at this company, teamwork is a must.

Plan, coordinate, schedule and supervise on-site operations of site crew, customers, and subcontractors to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and that performance objectives are met.

Perform pre-job inspection and layout

Coordinate trucks, material delivery, and traffic control.

Must have a thorough understanding of contract plans and specifications.

Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or may be encountered and take corrective action as needed.

Fill out various reports to ensure contract compliance.

Train crews as needed on methods and equipment.

Keep crews accountable for safety and production rates and quality control.

Comply, understand, and support safety initiatives to ensure a safe working environment.

Identify job site safety hazards and take corrective action to eliminate or minimize these concerns.

Maintain good client relations.

Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for job completion as requested
