Kernen Construction is seeking an experienced mechanic to join our team.
Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair complex construction equipment and automotive issues, conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, maintain a safe and organized work environment and interact with the Kernen team to provide excellent service.
Qualifications: Experience with CAT equipment such as excavators, loaders, pavers, drum rollers, skid steers, drum rollers, is preferred. Proven experience as a mechanic, with at least 3 years’ experience, ASE certification is preferred. Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, gasoline/diesel engines, equipment hydraulics, and electrical systems preferred. Strong, welding and fabrication, tractor/trailer air brake systems, and knowledge of small tools is a plus. Diagnostic and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
About the Position: Perform preventative and routine maintenance, recognize, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical defects, conduct safety inspections of equipment and maintain maintenance records, perform duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations, there is occasional heavy lifting and working in both hot and cold environments, work may consist of various shifts, with overtime, weekend, and holiday work during busy production times.
