Reliable, positive, self-starter wanted for general farmhand position with a livestock care focus. Work alongside farmers Kevin & Melanie Cunningham, and as part of a team, to care for oxen, beef & dairy cattle, laying hens, meat birds, turkeys, livestock guardian dogs and pigs in a well-managed, regenerative system. Assist with 5 acre market & CSA garden, general farm upkeep and maintenance, and whatever needs doing for the good of the operation.
Must be:
In good physical shape / athletic; we do A LOT of walking, lifting and basically kicking ass on our farm.
Drug and tobacco free. NO CANNABIS.
Reliable, on-time and consistent.
Interested in healthy living, good food and an omnivore.
Must have:
Reliable transportation; we won't ask you to use your car for work, but we need to know you can make it work when scheduled.
Housing within 25 minutes for the farm.
Basic handyman skills, such as using basic hand tools and small equipment like wheedwhackers, mowers, etc.
Good communication skills.
Appropriate work wear, including waterproof footwear, rain gear.
A pocket knife.
NOTE: stipends are available to help with getting geared up, if needed.
