Wild Rivers Electric – McKinleyville, CA
We’re a small but growing electrical and solar contracting business based in McKinleyville. We’re looking for a reliable, experienced bookkeeper who can also assist with a variety of administrative tasks. This is a hybrid, flexible role for someone who enjoys diverse responsibilities and wants to grow with a mission-driven local company.
This position requires one consistently scheduled on-site day per week (for example, every Monday) in McKinleyville. The rest of the work can be done remotely or on-site as needed. On-site work will be in a clean, home-based office.
Primary Duties (Bookkeeping Focus):
Maintain and reconcile QuickBooks Online
Manage payroll for two employees
Generate and send invoices
Track and categorize project expenses
Assist with monthly financial tasks and reports
Additional Tasks (Depending on Skills & Interest):
Submit utility interconnection and SGIP battery rebate applications
Handle solar permitting paperwork
Set up and manage vendor/supplier accounts
Light Squarespace website updates or social media posts
Support customer communication and scheduling
Optional: help coordinate a local vacation rental (calendar, cleanings, guest messages)
What We’re Looking For:
2+ years experience in bookkeeping or small business admin
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Google Workspace
Strong attention to detail and clear communication
Comfortable working independently and managing time well
Based in Humboldt County and available for one consistently scheduled on-site day per week
Experience in solar, construction, or permitting is a plus (but not required)
Job Details:
Part-time: 8–15 hours/week to start
Flexible schedule with 1 regular on-site day per week
Pay: $25–$35/hr depending on experience
