Membership & Development Coordinator

Employment Status: $18-20 per hour BOE, 32 hours per week

General Description:

Redwood Community Radio (RCR), a vibrant and dynamic non-profit community radio station that has been serving the public for over 40 years, is committed to bringing engaging, diverse programming to our dedicated and growing listenership. We are seeking a passionate, motivated, and detail-oriented Membership & Development Coordinator to help further our mission. This position plays a key role in fostering relationships with members, ensuring the smooth operation of our membership services, and supporting fundraising and development efforts.

As a central point of contact for our members, the Membership & Development Coordinator will work closely with staff, volunteers, and management to maintain and strengthen our membership base, ensuring all goals are met and services are exceeded. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

(Other duties may be assigned as needed)

Database Management:

Maintain accurate, up-to-date member database information.

Post membership payments in the membership database.

Prepare and process daily bank deposits.

Work with the bookkeeper to resolve discrepancies between the database and QuickBooks monthly.

Design, layout, and coordinate printing mail merge, and folding for Silent Drive letters in collaboration with volunteers.

Membership Management:

Communicate with members in a professional and timely manner via email, phone, and in-person.

Handle membership renewals, donations, and merchandise sales.

Write and issue receipts for donations and membership contributions.

Produce regular newsletters using MailChimp.

Attend Membership Drive Committee meetings to help plan and execute successful drives.

Assist, train, oversee volunteers during the Membership Drives

Coordinate the fulfillment of thank-you gifts and premiums, if any, in a timely manner.

Development Management:

Attend monthly Development Committee meetings.

Assist in coordinating and managing special fundraising events.

Oversee inventory of materials required for fundraising activities.

Maintain and track merchandise inventory.

Handle monetary preparations for fundraising events, ensuring accuracy and accountability.

Oversee and manage volunteer coordination and training

Additional Responsibilities:

Coordinate mass mailings with volunteers and the post office.

Prepare and print the annual tax letters for donations in January for the preceding fiscal year.

Provide membership and programmer information to the Board of Directors for elections.

Analyze and report on membership data and statistics to the management team.

Maintain and update the website on WordPress and assist with social media content creations.

Qualifications:

We’re looking for a candidate with the following skills and experiences:

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Ability to work independently and to self initiate tasks

Proficiency with both Mac and PC computers.

Experience using donor management databases, MailChimp, WordPress, and social media platforms or ability to learn it.

Experience using graphic design software, Canva or ability to learn it.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Experience working with volunteers, and the ability to train, support, and oversee them effectively.

Flexible, adaptable, and able to work evenings or weekends when necessary.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities across various socio-economic, racial, cultural, age and linguistic backgrounds.

Compensation and Benefits:

$18-20 per hour BOE, 32 hours per week.

Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays in accordance with RCR’s policies.

Working Conditions:

RCR offers an energetic and supportive environment with a close-knit team of staff and approximately 200 volunteers. Membership drives and events are a central part of the station’s activities, requiring significant time and coordination. You will be surrounded by passionate individuals who share the goal of delivering diverse, meaningful content to our community.

Equipment Used & Physical Requirements:

Office equipment including computers (Mac & PC), voicemail systems, copier, and other office machinery.

Ability to remain stationary for extended periods (approximately 6 hours per day).

Occasional movement within the office to access materials, files, and equipment.

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
