Are you an Arcata resident? Do you have a strong social circle?
Nathan is looking for someone to help him host relaxed, fun gatherings on Friday and Saturday evenings from 3 PM–9 PM.
Nathan didn’t get to experience the kind of social life many of us take for granted due to autism and restrictive day programs. Now, he’s ready to change that with your help. He wants to host gatherings that feel like a “normal” party—fun, inclusive, and full of good conversation—but without the noise or chaos of a big crowd.
What you’ll be doing:
Helping Nathan plan and host small get-togethers at his home.
Bringing new people into the mix (vetting them first to keep things safe and comfortable).
Checking IDs for anyone you don’t know who’s joining.
You’d be great for this if:
You’ve been an Arcata resident for at least a year.
You’re 21 or older.
You have a strong friend group and can invite people who bring good energy.
You’re patient, open-minded, and comfortable managing social situations.
You’re street-smart and a good judge of character.
You value diversity and inclusion and are open to discussions about different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs.
Details:
Pay: $30/hour + $0.67/mile for driving.
Shifts: Friday and Saturday evenings, 3 PM–9 PM (other evenings may also be available).
The first month of employment is a trial period, during which only 1-2 shifts per week are available.
After the first month, up to 40 hours/week may be available, depending on staff needs.
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and a registered, insured vehicle.
Ability to pass a LiveScan (FBI+DOJ) background check ($80).
