HELP WANTED
Direct Support Professional (DSP1/DSP2)
Shift: Days, Evenings, NOC
Full-Time, Part-Time, On Call
Wage: Varies by experience. Minimum Starting at $18 per hour
Location: Arcata, CA
Ramona's Place is a 24/7 staff operated adult residential facility for adults with developmental disabilities. RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with activities of daily living, including passing medication as assigned, following facility protocol, licensing regulations and guidelines for both client and employee safety
2. Follow safety guidelines in the facility, including proper lifting, universal precautions and personal care protocols when providing care and supports to clients.
3. Follow the schedule of duties for the direct care staff, as well as the IPP for each client
4. Function as a team, assisting coworkers when the need arises
5. Monitor and recording of client activity, food/liquid intake, psychosocial status, taking action as required to promote client well being
6. Report any client status change immediately to the supervisor
7. Act immediately on any client crisis, following protocol and basic first aid training
8. In the event all assigned duties cannot be completed, ask for assistance and report to the Facility Manager
9. Implement and conduct daily activities with the clients
10.Set up, serve and clean up the meals for the clients. Routine housekeeping and laundry service.
11. Promote open communication between health care professionals, families, clients and coworkers
12.Additional tasks assigned by your Facility Manager, Administrator or Licensee
13.Responsible for ensuring that any suspicion of or knowledge of suspected abuse is reported in accordance with the law and program policies "Mandated Reporter"
REQUIREMENTS:
18 years of age
Valid California driver license
Successful completion of pre-employment physical, including current TB
Successful completion and approval of DOJ and FBI background check
Successful completion of all trainings as required by licensee and applicable regulations, including, but not limited to, DSP1 and DSP2.
