Location: Old Town Eureka, CA | Part-Time

The Historic Eagle House is a historic and vibrant hospitality venue located in the heart of Old Town Eureka. With our boutique inn, beloved cocktail lounge, Phatsy Kline’s, and a variety of stunning event spaces—including our grand ballroom—we host everything from weddings and family gatherings to concerts, community mixers, retreats, and private parties.

We are seeking a passionate, organized, and service-oriented Assistant Event Coordinator to join our Events Team. If you love connecting with people, multitasking with grace, bringing in new guests and clients and helping to bring unforgettable experiences to life, we’d love to meet you!

Position: Assistant Event Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and respond to event intake forms and inquiries

Support Event Manager in all phases of event planning and execution

Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and vendors

Attend and assist with on-site events, serving as event lead when needed

Maintain and update task sheets, contracts, timelines, and communications

Perform outreach to past and potential clients for bookings

Call clients 2+ weeks prior to events to confirm details

Coordinate with team leads, vendors, and staff to ensure seamless execution

Ensure proper set-up, takedown, and cleanup of events

Manage event inventory and rentals

Follow up after events with thank-you notes and feedback requests

Help promote public events via social media and event calendars

Support with booking concerts and public programming

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Strong attention to detail and follow-through

Ability to lead and work collaboratively as part of a team

Experience in event coordination, customer service, or hospitality preferred

Proficiency with basic computer software (email, Google Drive, POS systems)

Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings

Comfortable working long hours on your feet and lifting up to 50 lbs

ABC Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and Food Handler certifications (or willingness to obtain)

Bonus if you have:

Social media or marketing experience

Knowledge of local venues, vendors, and hospitality networks

A calm, solution-oriented approach under pressure

A love for music, events, and community building!
