Museum Director
Redwood Discovery Museum

We are looking for someone experienced in supervising a team that can support the staff of a nonprofit children’s museum. The Museum Director will work directly under the Executive Director, and is responsible for leading the staff and maintaining a positive and safe work environment. The Museum Director will be responsible for the day to day tasks of the museum. This is a new position and will require some flexibility and adaptability as the position develops.
Duties will include: hiring and managing staff, scheduling, delegating tasks, taking supply inventory, fostering a productive work environment, conflict resolution, developing and maintaining quality standards, setting goals, ensuring a safe environment for the guests, addressing guest issues and complaints, and other tasks as delegated from the Executive Director.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in a management position
Experience working in a childcare and/or educational environment
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to set and maintain standards
Organization skills
Google sheets
Cash handling
Professionalism
Reliability
Open availability
Part time 20-25 hours per week, including weekends and some evenings
Starting wage $18/hour
