Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join one of our clients, a dynamic and growing organization committed to excellence in financial management and business operations. This full-time, on-site position is based at their centrally located headquarters and offers an exciting opportunity for talented accounting professionals to make an impact.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role will require analytical thinking, organizational skills, and a solution-oriented mindset to support the organization's accounting activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
General Accounting Functions
Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in compliance with GAAP.
Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes, including the preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries.
Conduct monthly reconciliation for bank accounts, credit cards, and key general ledger accounts.
Process payroll accurately and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company regulations.
Assist in preparing schedules and supporting documentation for tax filings or external reporting.
Support process improvements in budget tracking, expense analysis, and internal financial controls.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation and explanations during audits.
System Management and Process Improvement
Ensure accuracy and integrity of data within the company’s ERP system.
Assist in implementing process enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Participate in cross-departmental projects focused on improving cost-accounting practices and operational efficiencies.
Other Responsibilities
Monitor adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements as needed.
Handle ad hoc reporting and special financial projects as requested by senior management.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus, although not a requirement
At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting/ERP systems (experience with systems like NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Dynamics Navision is a plus).
Exceptional time-management, organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
High attention to detail and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-service-oriented approach.
