Description A prestigious luxury hotel in Hollywood is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant for a 6-month contract to support its accounting operations. This role will focus on billing, journal entries, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) using Opera software. If you have strong attention to detail and hospitality experience, this opportunity offers an excellent chance to contribute to a world-class hotel’s finance team.Requirements Responsibilities:
Billing:
Generate, review, and post invoices for clients and vendors.
Ensure billing is timely, accurate, and aligns with guest folios and internal guidelines.
Assist with resolving discrepancies in billing and customer payments.
Journal Entries:
Prepare and post journal entries for daily transactions, accruals, and adjustments.
Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Maintain accurate financial records and assist with month-end and quarter-end closings.
Accounts Payable (AP):
Review, process, and post vendor invoices and expense reports.
Ensure timely payments in line with hotel policies and vendor terms.
Address discrepancies and reconcile vendor accounts.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Manage AR aging reports and ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
Handle guest refunds, disputes, and chargebacks as necessary.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve payment issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or a luxury hotel environment.
Proficiency with Opera software is required.
Strong understanding of AP, AR, billing, and journal entry processes.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
