Description We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Hayward, California. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for reviewing and coding vendor invoices, preparing journal entries, and assisting with monthly-end closing. Additionally, you will be tasked with investigating accounts payable issues and performing expense analysis. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Review and code vendor invoices and manage vendor payment issues. Prepare journal entries to support month-end closing. Validate and review various types of invoices and disbursements. Investigate and resolve accounts payable issues, including discrepancies, system issues, taxes, payments, and credit memos. Ensure that systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company policies and function accurately and timely. Perform expense analysis and assist in monthly-end closing. Support two business units and maintain an organized and detailed approach to work. Handle and analyze large data sets in MS Excel using V Lookups and Pivot Tables. Review historical transactions to understand GL codes.
