Position SummaryThe Preparation Room Supervisor is a Licensed Embalmer, who in addition to performing the duties of an embalmer, is also accountable for managing the day-to-day operations and resources of the Preparation Room (Prep Room) which includes coordinating staff scheduling, ordering supplies, maintaining OSHA compliance, and maintaining proper licensing required for the facility,Preparation Room Supervisors will demonstrate by example, CFCS’ Core Values–Share the Journey, Serve with Care, and Make It Happen–in all their dealings with families, staff, and internal/external contacts.Reporting to the Location Manager, the Prep Room Supervisor interacts with Family Service Directors, Crematory Operators, Family Certification Administrator, and other internal/external personnel and departments, as needed.Coordinating embalmingQualificationsEducation and Experience· Degree in Mortuary Science (or related program) from an accredited school or university· Continuing education, as required in the state of practice· 1-3 years as a licensed embalmer· 1-3 years in supervising or managing othersKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities· Knowledge of the Catholic faith, rituals, and traditions· Able to conduct oneself with a “Family First” approach· Working knowledge of funeral services, ceremonies, and case management · Perform inspection, preparation, embalming, dressing, and casketing of decedent· Maintain equipment repair, maintenance, and certification logs· Knowledge of mortuary federal and state laws/regulations· Ability to coach and motivate staff to follow The CFCS Way· Capable of overseeing the work performed by direct reports· Ensure embalmers perform operations safely and according to procedures· Proficient in the use of computers, software, and technologyLicenses and Certifications· Embalming license and/or the ability to obtain a license in the state of practice· Valid state issued driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance is required· Maintain embalming license in good standingPhysical Requirements· Ability to lift or move objects weighing between 75-100 lbs.· Ability to push and pull up to 300 lbs. with a wheeled cart· Ability to stand for long periods on a hard surfacePowered by JazzHR
