Diesel Mechanic – Fleet and Rig Maintenance
Location: Madera, CA
Madera Pumps, Inc., a well-established pump company serving California agriculture, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain and service our fleet of 35+ trucks and pump rigs.
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a critical role in keeping our field operations running safely and efficiently by performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, pump rigs, and trailers
Diagnose and troubleshoot engine, hydraulic, brake, and electrical systems
Inspect equipment for defects, excessive wear, or safety issues
Maintain accurate records of work performed and ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards
Grease pump rigs and perform general service and upkeep
Determine when repairs can be completed in-house or should be outsourced
Communicate effectively with field teams and supervisors on equipment status
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
3+ years of diesel mechanic experience, preferably with heavy-duty trucks or equipment
Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills
Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical schematics
Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Valid driver’s license required
Experience in a trucking or field service environment is a plus
