Type: Full-Time, On-Site (this is NOT a remote position)
Monday – Friday (6:00 am – 2:30 pm)
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Drafting: Ability to read detailed sketches, blueprints, and technical drawings that accurately represent the custom woodwork design.
Material Selection: Source and procure high-quality lumber, hardware, and finishing materials based on project specifications and client choices.
Fabrication:
Precisely cut, shape, and join wood pieces using a variety of power tools like table saws, band saws, routers, planers, and hand tools.
Assemble components using techniques like mortise and tenon, doweling, and glue joints.
Quality Control: Thoroughly inspect each piece for accuracy, fit, and finish, ensuring adherence to high standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Expert Woodworking Skills: Deep understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery methods, and grain patterns.
Design Aptitude: Strong creative vision, ability to translate client ideas into functional designs.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled operation of power tools and hand tools, including safety practices.
Precision Measurement: Attention to detail and ability to work with precise measurements.
Communication Skills: Effective communication with clients to understand their needs and clearly explain design concepts.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve challenges during the construction process.
Work Environment:
Primarily in a woodshop.
Exposure to dust and noise from power tools, requiring appropriate safety gear.
May involve physical demands like lifting heavy materials.
