Description:
Diagnose, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production and facilities machinery and equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, including mechanical equipment such as, engines, electrical motors, natural gas burners, conveyor systems, and mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to meet production schedules.
Essential Job Functions:
Observes electronic, electrical, mechanical, and gas devices in operation and listens to their sounds to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair cause of trouble or breakdown.
Test new or repaired parts or equipment to assure operation service.
Diagnose programmable logic controller up to initializing a new program.
Dismantles devices and/or equipment to gain access to remove, replace, or repair defective or worn parts using hoist, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
Examines parts to detect imperfections and inspects used and/or new parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
Measures equipment compliance with its electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical operating design parameters and knows how to obtain those parameters.
Adjusts or aligns functional parts of devices and control instruments using necessary hand tools, power tools, meters, or related equipment to resolve mechanical or electrical problems or malfunctions.
Repairs or replaces defective parts using appropriate tools. Installs special functional structural parts in equipment.
Maintains air conditioning and refrigeration equipment to meet production runs.
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and/or production systems following written job orders.
Assists production personnel in setting up equipment to prepare for a product run.
Performs routine welding repair as required.
Perform duties of a related nature as may be assigned by supervisor.
Trained and aware of SQF requirement including but not limited to the reporting of all food safety, quality and defense issues.
