HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION The Cash Operations Coordinator I is responsible for the proper cash handling, including reconciliation and recording, of all cash transactions at our San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park facilities. This position reports to the Cash Operations Supervisor.WHAT YOU WILL DO
Cash Handling - responsible for the receipt, counting, verification and recording of all cash transactions, with a high degree of accuracy.
Cash Security and Compliance - responsible for following all cash handling procedures and protocols to safeguard cash against theft, fraud, and unauthorized access. Responsible for adhering to all security measures. Responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements.
Reporting and Analyses - responsible for maintaining timely and accurate records of cash transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and balance adjustments to allow for comprehensive reporting by leadership.
Cash Recycler Machine Maintenance Management - responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks on Cash Recycler machines, such as cleaning and replenishment of supplies and funds, to ensure proper functioning, efficiency, and minimal downtime. Responsible for identifying and reporting any malfunctions or issues with the Cash Recycler machines to a level II Coordinator or above for prompt resolution.
Team Collaboration -collaborate with all Cash Operations team members across both Parks to ensure smooth and efficient workflow and accurate cash processing and recording, with willingness to provide support and assistance to either office location. Requires effective communication with all team members.
Customer Service Excellence - responsible for providing prompt and courteous assistance to all internal and external business partners. Address any concerns or issues professionally and efficiently, and escalate issues as needed to a level II Coordinator or above.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Preferred candidate with ability to work a flexible schedule starting at 6AM including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
JOB EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in a high-volume cash handling operation preferred.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Demonstrated ability to handle and count cash, and process, record and reconcile cash transactions
Demonstrated ability to operate a secure cash vault
Effective organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Effective verbal and written communication
Ability to problem solve, and escalate as needed
Diligent with high-attention to details
Proficient in use of computer programs (word processing, spreadsheets, cash control software)
Accurate record keeping
Work effectively, both independently and in a diverse team environment
Ability to reconcile and contribute to resolution of variances/discrepancies
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed, in 2 different locations.
